In Ontario, Limited Partnerships (LPs) have the flexibility to designate a single partner to serve as both the general partner and the limited partner. Alternatively, an LP can opt to appoint a company, which may be a foreign entity, as its general partner. If you choose to have a company act as the general partner of your LP, it must first undergo registration in Canada. Please note that the registration fee for a company to serve as a general partner is USD $500, which covers all associated costs.
